Lifetime.Education tutoring at The Gathering Place

Lifetime.Education volunteers, intern, and staff met today with staff and members from The Gathering Place – a Clubhouse-style facility in Redford, Michigan. Gathering Place members and staff have already completed their training with Lifetime.Education and are ready to get started!

In the next few weeks, students will be assessed, assigned, and begin working with their personal tutors. We’re excited to be a part of another Clubhouse and delighted that The Gathering Place has chosen to participate in our program and welcome us into their program.

We know we’re going to do some incredible work together!

Citizenship Classes at CVC (Crime Victim Care)

As many of you know, Lifetime.Education has a wonderful English as a Second Language (ESL) program with Crime Victim Care of Allen County – an agency that serves victims of domestic violence, with an emphasis on immigrant populations.

We are pleased to announce that, in addition to expanding our ESL program, we will begin to offer tutoring in Citizenship for individuals who want to become naturalized citiizens of the United States.

All of this is made possible by you, our community of wonderful volunteers. We thank you so very much for all that you do!

Walking-Home 2015

As you may or may not have seen, the Homeless Coalition of Fort Wayne is a participating agency in the upcoming Walking Home 2015 event. Walking Home, formerly known as Homeward Bound, is a charity walk that benefits the agencies throughout Fort Wayne serving the homeless in our city.
The event is Sunday, April 26th, 12:00 pm  at Headwaters Park.
We need your help.
We’re asking all of our volunteers to come and walk for us. More than that, we’re asking you to invite your friends, family, and fellow community-minded citizens to come out and help support the work we do.
Whether you walk and donate, or just walk, we are so very thankful for any support you can give us.
Registering to walk does NOT require a donation.
Please visit to sign up today.
When you register, please be sure to pick ‘Homeless Coalition of Fort Wayne’ from the list of agencies. This will ensure our agency is credited with your support!

Our end-of-year report.

Homeless Coalition of Fort Wayne is proud to present our end-of-year report we presented to our tutors, volunteers, and students who attended our end-of-year get together.

We’ve blessed with amazing volunteers from all walks of life and are so thankful for the opportunity to live, work, and serve a community as soulful and inclusive as Fort Wayne, Indiana. This city really is a special place.
